Your Guide to Mizzou Homecoming 2019

As you all probably know by now, the University of Missouri founded Homecoming in 1911 so we take things pretty seriously. Homecoming 2019 is quickly approaching, and we have you covered on the many different activities that come with the weekend.


Kicking off the festivities on Friday, October 11, Chancellor Cartwright will give the State of the University Address at 9 a.m. in Busch Auditorium, Cornell Hall. Don’t worry if you can’t make it in-person, you can also join online on Facebook Live.

Opening at 10 a.m. on Traditions Plaza, Homecoming Headquarters will be set up for you to pick up giveaways (including kettle corn courtesy of Bates County Mizzou Club) and get in the Homecoming spirit. Homecoming HQ will close at 4 p.m., so make sure you swing by before then.


In your free time throughout the weekend, make your way downtown to see the many installments of Tiger spirit for Decorate the District, when organizations from all over campus decorate the windows of downtown businesses.




The night gets started at 6 p.m. with Taste of Columbia and Campus Decorations. Wander around Greektown and enjoy some awesome food from some of the best vendors in town while enjoying the the house decorations and skits performed by Mizzou's fraternity and sorority houses. Campus Decorations ends around 9 p.m. and you won’t want to miss it.


After you have stuffed yourself with food from Taste of Columbia, get on over to Jesse Auditorium for the Step Show put on by the National Pan-Hellenic Council. This high energy competition between the NPHC organizations is sure to be a hit and always performs to a packed house. Time is TBD so check your schedule the day of.


To close your night, join us for a Spirit Rally on Traditions Plaza at 8:30 p.m. featuring Truman the Tiger, the Mizzou Spirit Squads, and Marching Mizzou. This pep rally is sure to make your Tiger Spirit shine.



The big event of the weekend is the Homecoming Parade. With dazzling floats, cool vehicles, and music from Marching Mizzou, the marquee event is sure to be a blast. While the official start time is yet to be determined, you won’t want to miss it! Stay tuned in the next week for the parade time to be announced.



Immediately following the conclusion of the Homecoming Parade, Ellis Library will be hosting an open house. Make your way to Ellis Library for refreshments and family activities. The open house is free and open to the public.


To conclude our Homecoming weekend, your Missouri Tigers take on the Rebels of Ole Miss. Game time will be announced soon! At halftime, our 2019 Homecoming King and Queen will be announced, and we need your help cheering the Tigers to victory!
