Looking To Support More Black Student-Run Businesses? Here’s Over 100 More!

Hey Tigers! Back so soon? Welcome! Since you guys enjoyed the student-run Black owned businesses from last month so much, we decided to feature over 100 more incredible businesses as we wrap up Black History Month. Yep, you heard that right!

1. Light By Lo. (Candles) - Activate your senses because Light By Lo. is bringing you “luxurious scents inspired by powerful tunes.” Lauren N. Harris’ hand-poured candles are heaven-scent (pun 100% intended) and guaranteed to brighten your day (and night)!

2. Jayznailway (Nail Service) - Personally, I’d much rather have my nails done than stare at my stubby fingers all day. Even for those of you who aren’t self conscious about your fingers, you should still highly consider booking an appointment with nail tech Jachelle Powell. Her business, Jayznailway, is sure to leave you impressed!

5. Noir Mizzou (Black Homecoming Festivities) - Let me guess. You’re looking at this list and wondering where the 100+ number in the title came from. Let me explain. You see, Noir Mizzou is the founder of Black Mizzou’s most clandestine yet prestigious Homecoming party, and they have recently compiled a list of over 100 Black owned businesses run by Mizzou alumni. Since we are literally the student chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association, what better way to support Black alumni than by bringing light to these amazing business owners?!

In partnership with the Mizzou Black Alumni Network (MBAN), an affinity group of MAA, Noir Mizzou is currently building and sharing the largest Mizzou Black Alumni-owned business list for both online and in person support from absolutely anyone! Your job? Visit buyblackmizzou.com or click this link to see the full list featuring some Mizzou’s finest Black-owned alumni businesses. From there, save, shop and share!

Below, you will find Mizzou Noir’s Instagram linked for you to follow and explore their content, as well as the website with all of the businesses. From beauty to foods to non-profits - they’ve got it all!

For an even greater outreach, retweet Noir Mizzou’s Twitter post to share the list:

Even though there are only two days left in this month - there is no need to rush to order all your products before February 28th. Thankfully, Black history makes up our past, present and future, meaning that you have all year to support these businesses and the fantastic individuals behind them! Fight Tiger!
